<p style="text-align: justify;">Si tratta di varie tipologie di <strong>bandi a stampa</strong> provenienti da numerose filze del ‘500, ‘600 e ‘700. Sono composti da bandi, lettere e provvedimenti che per la loro serialità potevano essere stampati in molte copie e inviati a svariati destinatari in tutta la Toscana, oppure che potevano essere riutilizzati anche negli anni successivi, diminuendo così il lavoro dei copisti dei vari organi centrali di governo e delle varie magistrature fiorentine che erano sempre i mittenti di questi documenti. <br /><br />L'utilizzo del materiale a stampa aumenta progressivamente a partire dalla metà del '500 per divenire estremamente frequente con gli inizi dell'800. <br /><br />I soggetti dei documenti a stampa presenti nell’archivio sono i più vari ed abbracciano tutti gli aspetti della <strong>vita sociale, economica ed amministrativa dell'epoca</strong> costituendo quindi uno spaccato interessante, di cui ciò che viene qui proposto è soltanto una <strong>piccolissima porzione</strong>.</p>

La datazione presente sulla carta è in stile “ab incarnationem” nella variante fiorentina; il bando, di dimensioni maggiori della singola carta, è rilegato con paginazione non consecutiva; la datazione riportata sulla costola della filza (1515) è errata, molto probabilmente tale errore è voluto. Poiché con la nuova rilegatura, eseguita in epoca napoleonica, si voleva mettere la filza realizzata dal Vicario Buonaparte all’inizio della serie degli atti civili come una sorta di omaggio a Napoleone.

Description
An account of the resource
<div style="text-align: justify;">Ancora oggi, seppur in tono minore rispetto al passato, una delle produzioni tipiche del paese di Buti è la realizzazione di <strong>ceste intrecciate di castagno</strong>, i <strong>corbelli</strong>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">Per il suo carattere di artigianato minore, legato all'utilizzo di un materiale povero quale la corteccia del castagno, si potrebbe pensare che anche nei secoli scorsi questa fosse un'attività residuale di limitato interesse.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">In realtà la consultazione di questi documenti proietta questa manifattura nel contesto dei grandi cantieri edilizi della Toscana del secondo cinquecento, che vedevano i Medici intenti a edificare la Firenze capitale del loro Stato.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">L'abilità dei butesi nella lavorazione del castagno e nella realizzazione delle ceste li rendeva assai ricercati, in quanto questo manufatto era utilizzato come contenitore per il movimento della terra ed anche per le operazioni a piè di cantiere che necessitavano di recipienti per la calcina.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">Ecco che dalle carte individuate si evince come nel ‘500 questa produzione interessasse anche le maggiori fabbriche edilizie della Toscana:</div>

Inventari e stime dei beni in caso di sequestri ed eredità
Description
An account of the resource
Fino al <em>1786</em>, anno dell'<strong>abolizione della pena di morte</strong> in Toscana, qualsiasi provvedimento giudiziario che prevedesse la pena di morte, comportava automaticamente il sequestro e la vendita all'incanto dei beni del condannato. <br /><br />Ciò avveniva senza alcuna considerazione dei possibili effetti devastanti che questi provvedimenti comportavano sui componenti della famiglia dello stesso condannato, che si vedevano puniti per reati di cui erano assolutamente incolpevoli. <br /><br />Non a caso uno dei provvedimenti presi a latere dell'abolizione della pena di morte e della tortura, fu proprio la proibizione del sequestro dei beni dei condannati per i reati più gravi. Per secoli, però, tale provvedimento era la norma e si svolse senza alcuna considerazione morale sulla sua applicazione. <br /><br />In archivio sono così conservati migliaia di documenti composti da <em>"Inventari di beni di condannati"</em> in cui si dà una descrizione certosina di tutto ciò che era contenuto all'interno delle varie stanze di abitazione e di residenza del condannato, compresi anche gli annessi agricoli e gli spazi di lavoro: è così conservata una documentazione di incredibile interesse che ci permette di fare un vero e proprio viaggio nel tempo all'interno delle abitazioni di persone vissute tre, quattro o cinque secoli fa e ci permette di conoscere non solo di quante stanze era composta la casa e quale era la mobilia di ciascuna di queste stanze, ma che ci descrive in dettaglio gli abiti, gli indumenti intimi, le armi, gli strumenti di lavoro, le suppellettili, i gioielli conservati negli armadi e nei cassoni. Un'occasione unica per venire a contatto diretto, quasi visivo, con quella che era la cultura materiale delle popolazioni toscane di secoli addietro e che sarebbe impossibile da ricostruire in altro modo con tale ricchezza di dettaglio.<br /><br /><br />

Statuti della Podesteria di Vicopisano (dal 1535 al 26/12/1700) che contengono le regole da applicarsi nelle cause civili all’interno del territorio della Podesteria di Vicopisano che comprendeva gli attuali comuni di: Vicopisano, Buti e Bientina. Il documento è suddiviso in rubriche ciascuna inerente ai diversi aspetti della giurisdizione civile, per esempio: “Del modo di procedere nelle cause civili”, “Che li pegni gravati si consegnino al camarlengo di quel comune dove saranno fatti i gravamenti”, “Del modo di vendere i pegni” .. ecc . Il testo dell'originale cinquecentesco venne ricopiato il 15 agosto 1692.
Le ultime due carte contengono una copia del partito di Buti del 21/09/1699 inerente ai danni campestri.

<p style="text-align: justify;">A partire dagli inizi del XIX secolo, soprattutto durante il breve intermezzo napoleonico del 1799-1814, in archivio compaiono sempre più spesso relazioni, questionari e documenti in genere, richiesti e compilati con finalità statistiche e conoscitive. <br /><br />In realtà, uno dei primi esempi di questa tipologia di documentazione risale al periodo leopoldino con la cosiddetta <strong>"grande inchiesta"</strong> del 1766, condotta tramite domande poste a parroci e cancellieri comunali, i cui esiti indirizzarono gli interventi successivi di politica economica di <strong>Pietro Leopoldo</strong>. <br /><br />Anche i francesi nel 1811 non furono da meno con la richiesta di un questionario con 54 domande che affrontavano moltissimi aspetti relativi all'economia delle comunità toscane che dovevano essere amministrate e sfruttate a vantaggio dell'economia transalpina. <br /><br />Pochi di questi documenti, però, possono competere con la <strong>vastità e completezza di questa relazione del 1854</strong>, realizzata mediante la collazione in un unico testo di contributi redatti da parroci e personaggi eminenti delle varie comunità. Il risultato è uno spaccato di eccezionale completezza che abbraccia aspetti fisici, economici, sociali, amministrativi di tutte le località principali del territorio della <strong>Delegazione di Governo vicarese</strong>, che comprendeva i territori degli attuali comuni di Bientina, Buti, Calcinaia e Vicopisano. <br /><br />Una vera e propria istantanea di una società e di un territorio alle soglie dell'Unità d'Italia. <br /><br />I documenti vengono qui presentati suddivisi per capitoli tematici, nell'ordine in cui furono compilati dai copisti del Delegato di Governo.</p>

Tutto il territorio Pisano, a partire dalla città stessa fino alla pianura circostante ed alle prime propaggini dei Monti Pisani, è stato per secoli caratterizzato dalla presenza di fiumi, torrenti, laghi, stagni che ne hanno delineato i contorni geografici e ne hanno condizionato in positivo od in negativo gli sviluppi demografici. <br /><br />In particolare, la presenza del tratto finale del <strong>fiume Arno</strong> e dei suoi affluenti, primo fra tutti la <strong>Serezza</strong> proveniente dal <strong>Lago di Bientina</strong>, ha creato un ambiente in continuo equilibrio tra le opportunità offerte dalla presenza di queste importanti vie d'acqua e la loro inevitabile propensione a fuoriuscire dai propri limiti, naturali o artificiali che fossero. <br /><br />Per secoli la presenza delle<em> alluvioni</em> ha costituito quindi un limite alla possibilità di vivere con tranquillità in un territorio che per il resto offriva un ambiente naturale ricco di occasioni per le popolazioni che vi abitavano. <br /><br />Nel dettaglio, la confluenza della Serezza in Arno all'altezza di Vicopisano, veniva a creare un punto di congiunzione e di collisione idraulica tra due bacini idrografici diversi, che in caso di piogge eccessive costituivano con facilità un accumulo di acque impossibile da regimentare anche se preso singolarmente, ma i cui effetti combinati portavano a disastrose alluvioni che interessavano la pianura ed i paesi circostanti. <br /><br />Questi documenti parlano proprio di queste alluvioni e ci danno una testimonianza diretta dei danni e delle peripezie a cui furono sottoposti gli abitanti dei centri compresi all'interno del Vicariato di Vicopisano in un arco cronologico che va dal XVI al XIX secolo, quando infine furono intrapresi i lavori per regimentare le acque, che si concretizzarono nella realizzazione della "Botte", la condotta idraulica sotterranea progettata da Alessandro Manetti per volere di <strong>Leopoldo II di Lorena</strong>, entrata in funzione il 18 dicembre del 1859.<br /><br /><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">I calafati erano coloro che si occupavano delle operazioni di impermeabilizzazione delle barche, realizzata mediante l'impiego di "ragia" cioè di resina raccolta dai pini del Monte Pisano.<br /><br />La presenza del lago di Bientina e delle sue ampie superfici palustri adibite alla pesca, portarono ben presto i pescatori bientinesi a sviluppare tutta una serie di attività legate alla navigazione interna ed allo sfruttamento delle risorse ittiche che li resero, a partire dalla metà del '500, una delle comunità più ricche della Toscana. <br /><br />Spesso, infatti, le professionalità di una specifica località o paese erano richieste per operare anche nelle grandi realtà urbane come Firenze o Pisa, a riprova che gli artigiani locali riuscivano a sviluppare abilità che erano assai richieste nello Stato toscano. <br /><br /><br /><br /></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">Ancora oggi, seppur in tono minore rispetto al passato, una delle produzioni tipiche del paese di Buti è la realizzazione di <strong>ceste intrecciate di castagno</strong>, i <strong>corbelli</strong>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">Per il suo carattere di artigianato minore, legato all'utilizzo di un materiale povero quale la corteccia del castagno, si potrebbe pensare che anche nei secoli scorsi questa fosse un'attività residuale di limitato interesse.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">In realtà la consultazione di questi documenti proietta questa manifattura nel contesto dei grandi cantieri edilizi della Toscana del secondo cinquecento, che vedevano i Medici intenti a edificare la Firenze capitale del loro Stato.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">L'abilità dei butesi nella lavorazione del castagno e nella realizzazione delle ceste li rendeva assai ricercati, in quanto questo manufatto era utilizzato come contenitore per il movimento della terra ed anche per le operazioni a piè di cantiere che necessitavano di recipienti per la calcina.</div>

Sono composti da bandi, lettere e provvedimenti che per la loro serialità potevano essere stampati in molte copie e inviati a svariati destinatari in tutta la Toscana, oppure che potevano essere riutilizzati anche negli anni successivi, diminuendo così il lavoro dei copisti dei vari organi centrali di governo e delle varie magistrature fiorentine che erano sempre i mittenti di questi documenti. <br /><br />L'utilizzo del materiale a stampa aumenta progressivamente a partire dalla metà del '500 per divenire estremamente frequente con gli inizi dell'800. <br /><br />I soggetti dei documenti a stampa presenti nell’archivio sono i più vari ed abbracciano tutti gli aspetti della <strong>vita sociale, economica ed amministrativa dell'epoca</strong> costituendo quindi uno spaccato interessante, di cui ciò che viene qui proposto è soltanto una <strong>piccolissima porzione</strong>.</p>

Dopo una tregua di oltre cento anni ed a distanza di quasi tre secoli dalla terribile epidemia di peste nera del 1348, la Toscana venne nuovamente colpita dalla <strong>peste</strong> nel 1630. <br /><br />Dopo aver devastato il milanese l’anno precedente (e questi eventi sono stati resi immortali dalla penna del Manzoni) ed aver colpito la pianura padana, il morbo nella sua forma bubbonica, si presentò nel pratese ai primi di agosto, per poi espandersi successivamente nella Regione. <br /><br />La peste arrivò nel pisano nel settembre del 1630 per raggiungere il suo apice nell’estate del 1631, quando colpì con forza la quasi totalità dei centri abitati, causando perdite che variavano dal 10 al 50% degli abitanti. <br /><br />Pur essendo un’infinitesima frazione dei documenti disponibili, con quelli qui presentati si ripercorre quel tragico periodo, cercando di evidenziare gli <em>sforzi che sia a livello centrale che locale, furono fatti per cercare di ostacolare prima e di combattere poi il terribile morbo</em>. Una lotta persa in partenza in quanto nulla si sapeva sui meccanismi virali che determinavano il contagio, la cui presenza si attribuiva a fantomatici “umori miasmatici” che avvelenavano l’aria sollecitati dalla congiunzione degli astri.

Tutto il territorio Pisano, a partire dalla città stessa fino alla pianura circostante ed alle prime propaggini dei Monti Pisani, è stato per secoli caratterizzato dalla presenza di fiumi, torrenti, laghi, stagni che ne hanno delineato i contorni geografici e ne hanno condizionato in positivo od in negativo gli sviluppi demografici. <br /><br />In particolare, la presenza del tratto finale del <strong>fiume Arno</strong> e dei suoi affluenti, primo fra tutti la <strong>Serezza</strong> proveniente dal <strong>Lago di Bientina</strong>, ha creato un ambiente in continuo equilibrio tra le opportunità offerte dalla presenza di queste importanti vie d'acqua e la loro inevitabile propensione a fuoriuscire dai propri limiti, naturali o artificiali che fossero. <br /><br />Per secoli la presenza delle<em> alluvioni</em> ha costituito quindi un limite alla possibilità di vivere con tranquillità in un territorio che per il resto offriva un ambiente naturale ricco di occasioni per le popolazioni che vi abitavano. <br /><br />Nel dettaglio, la confluenza della Serezza in Arno all'altezza di Vicopisano, veniva a creare un punto di congiunzione e di collisione idraulica tra due bacini idrografici diversi, che in caso di piogge eccessive costituivano con facilità un accumulo di acque impossibile da regimentare anche se preso singolarmente, ma i cui effetti combinati portavano a disastrose alluvioni che interessavano la pianura ed i paesi circostanti. <br /><br />Questi documenti parlano proprio di queste alluvioni e ci danno una testimonianza diretta dei danni e delle peripezie a cui furono sottoposti gli abitanti dei centri compresi all'interno del Vicariato di Vicopisano in un arco cronologico che va dal XVI al XIX secolo, quando infine furono intrapresi i lavori per regimentare le acque, che si concretizzarono nella realizzazione della "Botte", la condotta idraulica sotterranea progettata da Alessandro Manetti per volere di <strong>Leopoldo II di Lorena</strong>, entrata in funzione il 18 dicembre del 1859.<br /><br /><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">Nei questionari per la raccolta di notizie sugli usi e costumi popolari venivano indagate due tipologie di usi e costumi: le <strong>tradizioni religiose</strong> (suddivise in matrimonio, battesimo, costumi funebri, festività religiose) e le <strong>feste</strong> e gli <strong>svaghi</strong> (suddivisi in feste di nozze e battesimo, fiere e mercati, tradizioni carnevalesche, giochi pubblici e privati). <br /><br />Il compito di compilare il questionario veniva affidato ai parroci in quanto si trattava di questioni di loro competenza, essendo i religiosi i custodi della moralità e di tutto ciò che grossomodo atteneva al tempo libero, visto con occhio sospettoso in quanto possibile fonte di distrazione dagli insegnamenti della Chiesa. <br /><br />Non deve sorprendere quindi la presenza di numerosi commenti negativi rivolti dai parroci a tutte quelle usanze che comportavano un allontanamento dalla moralità e dal cristiano vivere (in particolare si stigmatizzano i giochi che comportano perdite di denaro o l'ubriachezza). <br /><br />Ogni parroco compilò un foglio preventivamente preparato, nel quale venivano richieste le informazioni suddette, suddivise in colonne già titolate.</div>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Si tratta di varie tipologie di <strong>bandi a stampa</strong> provenienti da numerose filze del ‘500, ‘600 e ‘700. Sono composti da bandi, lettere e provvedimenti che per la loro serialità potevano essere stampati in molte copie e inviati a svariati destinatari in tutta la Toscana, oppure che potevano essere riutilizzati anche negli anni successivi, diminuendo così il lavoro dei copisti dei vari organi centrali di governo e delle varie magistrature fiorentine che erano sempre i mittenti di questi documenti. <br /><br />L'utilizzo del materiale a stampa aumenta progressivamente a partire dalla metà del '500 per divenire estremamente frequente con gli inizi dell'800. <br /><br />I soggetti dei documenti a stampa presenti nell’archivio sono i più vari ed abbracciano tutti gli aspetti della <strong>vita sociale, economica ed amministrativa dell'epoca</strong> costituendo quindi uno spaccato interessante, di cui ciò che viene qui proposto è soltanto una <strong>piccolissima porzione</strong>.</p>
